My name is Char (they/he), and this is Space For Your Mind, your new favourite trans-owned and operated inclusive cleaning and organising service.
I first entered the cleaning and organising industry after my mum died in 2022, and I was left as the executor of her estate. As I was sorting through generations of sentimental memories, I started to closely consider the human relationship to collecting, consumption, and waste. Why do we hold on to things? What compels us to buy things we don’t need?
Add this to my lifelong interest in hoarding disorder, and you have the foundation of my business. I am here to help people confront their relationship with their belongings, reshape their living spaces, and help to make sense of their habits in the context of mental health. I also LOVE a cleaning transformation and one of my favourite things to do is restore a challenging space!
I am specifically here to help the queer and neurodivergent community - I have noticed there is a big gap when it comes to organising and cleaning services for us, and I want to fill it! I am a trans and autistic individual myself and my solutions come from lived experience. My services are accessible for everybody, regardless of gender, background, or age. This is a safe space and you can be happy in the knowledge that you will be listened to and respected at every point in the process.

Char is excellent and I’d definitely recommend them for both cleaning and organising. They were on time, organised, communicated with me well before the date of the booking and upon their arrival I felt at ease (big for someone who doesn’t like people in their home very much!). Char was extremely thorough with cleaning my 1br apartment, was friendly to my slightly nervous dog, and helped so much with organising my cluttered wardrobe! I’d definitely recommend Char and will not hesitate to book them in again in the future.
